Seneca Ridge Middle School (SRMS), in Sterling, VA, is over forty years old and has very few windows. Principal, Katy Garvey, approached Image360 – Dulles about trying to help them make their school more warm and welcoming, as research indicated to the administration that there is a relationship between school aesthetics and student performance.

SRMS created an Aesthetics Club comprised of students and faculty charged with the task of improving the school’s look and engaged Image360 – Dulles to work in tandem with their committee. The Club, its students, faculty advisors, and Principal Garvey visited out center in December 2016 for a tour and presentation of ideas. The students each sent to us, through their advisors, any poster they wanted printed. Our graphic designers modified the images and our production team printed and cut each poster in front of the students.

The students got to ask questions of our owner, graphic designers and production staff and not only did they learn some of the intricacies of  a small business, but they walked away with great ideas to review amongst members of their Aesthetics Club.

Loudoun County Public Schools "Job For A Day" Program Attends Image 360 Dulles

Hands on experience can be one of the best way to spark career interest in young adults and teens. With this in mind, we recently participated in the “Job-For-A-Day” program sponsored by Loudoun County Public Schools. The program allows juniors and seniors in all Loudoun County Public High Schools an opportunity to experience a career vocation of their choice.

Potomac Falls High School student Calvin Elliott recently spent the day at with us interfacing with employees from sales, marketing, production and his primary area of interest, graphic design. He also had lunch with our owner, Rusty Lawson, to discuss entrepreneurship.

“Calvin took an active interest in learning the intricacies of our business, and he clearly chose to treat this as a wonderful opportunity to better himself,” remarked Lawson. “The program seeks to give students the backing that they need to make decisions related to life skills and career choices through hands-on experience with things that are not necessarily available to them in the typical classroom environment.”

In what could be described as job-shadowing, the businesses who participate volunteer their time and resources to mentor the student—allowing teens a chance to envision themselves in career roles to see if the jobs that they have expressed interest match their skills and ambitions.

“The aim of this program is to allow students to be able to explore fields in which they have interest and/or aptitude while simultaneously strengthening students’ awareness of business, industry and particular vocations within the community,” Michael A. Lo Presti, Chairman of the School Business Partnership for LCPS and owner of Presti & Co. “We appreciate Image360 - Dulles partnering with us on this important initiative”.
